Custom Donut Boxes: Portion Layout and Topping Clearance

Define the number of donuts per box, the largest outside diameter and the finished topping height. For an assortment, map the different shapes and fillings before choosing a base size. A quantity label alone does not describe the space the packed order needs.

Measure the Filled Arrangement

Provide the intended row layout and the dimensions of the liner, board or tray. Leave clearance for icing and decorations at the lid and sides. If staff must lift individual items from the pack, include room for that removal method.

Review a sample with representative donuts and the actual packing sequence. Check whether pieces touch each other, whether the lid catches toppings and whether the closed pack can be opened without disturbing the arrangement.

Describe Grease, Moisture and Storage Conditions

Tell the supplier whether the product is packed warm or cooled, whether it has a moist filling, and how long and where it will be held. Identify any inner wrapping or liner separately from the outer carton.

Request the proposed material specification and supporting documents for the intended contact and storage conditions. A printed bakery carton does not establish freshness, grease resistance or food-contact suitability by appearance.

Review the Carton and Artwork Together

Mark the opening direction, tuck panels, logo and required product information on the proposed drawing. Check the artwork on the closed carton and near folds. Discuss any window or insert as a separate construction choice rather than assuming it is included.

Agree Sample Checks and Commercial Details

For counter service, takeaway and courier delivery, describe the actual route and review the need for outer protection separately. Agree the packed weight, stacking arrangement and handling checks using a representative sample.

Send the donut dimensions, assortment, quantity by design, artwork status, packing method, destination and required date. Confirm the sample scope, minimum order and schedule in the quotation after the specification is reviewed.
