Define the Shape Before the Construction

A custom shape rigid box is a project built around a specified outline rather than a standard rectangular footprint. The proposed shape needs to be assessed with the product, opening and packing process; a sketch does not establish that every detail can be produced.

Prepare Dimensions and Construction Details

Share a drawing or dimensional reference showing the outline, overall height and opening position. Include the product size, weight and any accessories. Identify which parts of the silhouette are essential and which may be adjusted during structural review. Ask whether tooling, joints or added support are needed for the proposed form.

Review the Physical Sample

Review curves, corners, seams and wrap edges at the final size. Check that the pack opens as intended and that the product can be inserted and removed without forcing it. Compare the sample with the agreed drawing, including any insert and any repeated units needed to assess fit.

Confirm Materials and Artwork

Request the specification for the board, wrap, coatings, adhesives and any insert or window. Material certifications and environmental statements need documents relevant to the proposed pack; they cannot be established from an image or a paper appearance.

Provide the artwork version, color references and marked areas for proposed finishes. Agree on the print and finish sample needed for approval, including small text and alignment at the final size.

Prepare the Quotation Brief

Send the product dimensions, pack quantity, destination, artwork status and required date. Ask for the project-specific sample scope, minimum order, production schedule, packing method and cost components. Confirm these before placing an order.

Compare a lift-off lid construction if the project needs a separate cover, or review insert requirements for several items.
