Description
When sourcing recyclable rigid boxes, define the destination and the complete packaging structure before approving the claim. The board alone does not determine whether a finished box can be collected, sorted and reprocessed. This listing is a starting point for a project review, not confirmation that an unspecified box is recyclable.
Gallery reference: a drawer-style presentation box. The image does not establish its material composition, recyclability or Eastpkg® manufacture.
Eastpkg® combines production and supply chain management for B2B packaging projects. Share the product and your material requirements so that the proposed components and supporting evidence can be reviewed together.
Build a Component List for the Finished Pack
Request a specification that identifies the rigid board, outer wrap, inner lining, printed layers, coating or lamination, adhesive, closure and insert. Record which parts are permanently bonded and which can be removed. Include ribbons, magnets, windows and other accessories rather than describing the pack only as paperboard.
- Board and wrap: identify the grade, thickness and any recycled-content statement with its scope and basis.
- Surface finishes: document the selected coating, film, foil or other finish; appearance does not establish disposal suitability.
- Closures and inserts: identify materials, attachment methods and any separation steps expected of the user.
- Primary packaging: distinguish the rigid outer box from a bottle, pouch, tray or other product container that has its own requirements.
Check the Intended Collection and Recycling Route
Specify the country or region where the packaging will be discarded and the intended household or commercial collection route. Ask the relevant local collection or recycling programme what it accepts, using the actual component specification rather than a generic description.
Keep evidence that matches the finished pack, intended use and destination. A supplier statement about one paper component is not proof for the complete box. Recycled content, renewable origin, biodegradability and compostability answer different questions and should not be used as substitutes for recyclability.
If certification or a mark is requested, confirm the holder, current scope, chain of custody and permission for the proposed claim. No certification or destination acceptance is established by this product page. See the materials and claims guide for the information to request.
Compare Structures and Separation Steps
Evaluate a rigid box structure against product fit, packing work and the proposed end-of-use instructions. A lid-and-base construction, sliding sleeve or hinged box may involve different components. Discuss alternatives before selecting a closure or decorative treatment.
Use a sample to check whether the intended separation can be performed as described, how the product is removed and whether loose components create handling problems. Do not label a design easier to recycle solely because it looks simple or uses fewer visible materials.
Keep Protection and Procurement Requirements in the Review
Provide product dimensions and weight, units per pack, insert needs and the handling or transport conditions. Agree any required tests and acceptance criteria. Material reduction should be assessed alongside product protection; this page does not promise transport performance or a measured environmental benefit.
Confirm artwork placement, colour reference, assembly and packing details in the approved specification. Discuss order quantity, sample costs, production timing and delivery terms in the quotation rather than relying on a fixed catalogue lead time.
Prepare a Documented Approval
- Agree the full component specification and destination.
- Review supporting material documents and the basis for any proposed claim.
- Check a representative sample for fit, assembly and the planned separation steps.
- Approve artwork and disposal wording that match the reviewed design and evidence.
- Retain the approved version and agree how material substitutions will be reviewed.
Send your dimensions, quantity, destination, artwork status and required material documents to request an Eastpkg® project quotation. Review the sample and prototyping questions when planning approval.
