Description
A recyclable packaging design brief needs to connect the proposed structure with a real disposal route. Paper appearance, a removable magnet or one material name does not establish acceptance of the complete pack.
Use this enquiry to discuss design-for-separation questions and the evidence needed before approving a recyclability statement. Eastpkg® combines production and supply chain management; specific construction and material options require project review.
Map Components and Their Connections
Record the board, wrap, film or coating, ink, adhesive, window, closure and insert. Identify where components are bonded, clipped, folded or otherwise joined. Include small accessories that are easy to overlook in an overall paper-based description.
- Outer structure: show the layers and finishes, not just the visible paper surface.
- Closures: identify magnets, ribbons or other parts and how they are attached.
- Inserts: distinguish a loose insert from one permanently joined to the box.
- Primary pack: assess a bottle, pouch or tray separately when it has its own material and disposal requirements.
Review the Separation Task with a Sample
If removal is part of the intended instructions, check it on a representative sample. Record which parts can be removed, the actions involved and what remains bonded. A drawing alone does not show that the intended separation works.
Do not describe components as easy to recycle simply because they can be separated by hand. Separation and acceptance by the destination’s collection and reprocessing system are different questions.
Check the Intended Destination Route
Define the country or region, intended household or commercial collection route and actual finished construction. Request evidence relevant to those conditions and confirm acceptance with the appropriate collection or recycling programme.
Keep recycled content, certification and compostability separate from a recyclability statement. A certificate or water-based ingredient does not automatically make a composite pack recyclable. No universal disposal label or certification is established by this listing.
Keep Product Fit and Protection in the Design
Provide the product dimensions and weight, number of items, packing process and handling conditions. Compare alternatives against the same function. Material reduction or fewer components should not be assessed without considering product damage, assembly and transport packing.
Agree the sample checks for fit, opening, removal and artwork, along with any separate handling, contact or performance assessments required. Record differences from the intended production construction.
Approve Instructions and Evidence Together
Retain the component specification, evidence references, destination scope and approved artwork wording. Review substitutions before reusing a claim or disposal instruction. Do not apply a “100% recyclable” label or quantified saving without the necessary supporting basis.
Use the materials and claims checklist, compare rigid box structures or send your design and evidence requirements. Confirm samples, minimum quantity, charges and timing in the quotation.
