Description
Choosing a perfume box starts with the bottle, the sales channel and the way the pack will be handled. Use this guide to prepare a packaging brief and compare design options before requesting a quotation. A display box and a shipping pack serve different purposes; assess the complete packed product for your intended distribution route.
Start with the bottle and the packing process
Record the bottle’s maximum width, depth and height, including its cap, pump and any decorative parts. Provide its filled weight and note fragile or easily marked surfaces. For a gift set, list every item and its orientation. A physical bottle or a dimensioned drawing gives a more useful starting point than capacity alone.
Describe how the product will be packed, opened and removed. Check finger access, clearance around the cap and whether an insert touches printed or coated surfaces. Confirm the fit with the actual components, and review the packaging sample and prototype checks before approving production.
Compare perfume box formats
- Book-style presentation: Review hardcover book-style perfume packaging when considering a hinged opening and space for an interior brand message. Check the opening direction, closure and access to the bottle with a sample.
- Window presentation: Explore the perfume box with a laser-cutting window as a design reference. Confirm whether the opening is uncovered or uses a separate window material, and assess visibility, scuffing and handling requirements.
- Multi-item gift sets: Compare perfume gift-set packaging with an insert. Specify each component’s size and weight, the spacing between items and how customers will remove them.
These pages are starting points for discussion. Confirm the construction, materials and finish for your specific project rather than assuming that every option shown is included. Browse the wider perfume packaging collection to compare other formats.
Evaluate the insert and outer shipping pack together
Ask how the proposed insert supports the bottle and limits movement without making removal difficult. Review the packed box inside its intended shipping carton, including any cushioning. Agree on the handling and transport checks needed for your route; appearance alone does not establish transit protection.
Review printing and decorative finishes on a sample
Prepare logo files, artwork, color references and the locations of any foil, embossing or other finishes. Check small text, fine lines, registration, folds and visible edges. Compare a production-representative sample under suitable lighting, and document the approved reference and acceptable variation before ordering.
Make environmental requirements specific
List the complete pack: board, wrapping paper, coatings, inks, adhesives, windows, magnets and inserts. Ask which components can be separated and how the intended destination handles them. A paper-based appearance alone does not establish recyclability, recycled content or compostability.
If you require certified materials or a recycled-content claim, request evidence covering the proposed specification and the relevant supplier. Confirm the scope and any logo-use requirements before placing a claim on the box. Also review unnecessary space and material, while retaining the protection the product needs.
Prepare a brief for a comparable quotation
- Bottle drawings or samples, filled weight and the number of items per pack.
- Preferred box style, insert requirements, artwork and finish references.
- Order quantity, number of designs and expected repeat-order needs.
- Destination, sales channel, packing method and required arrival date.
- Material documentation, sampling and inspection requirements.
Ask for a project-specific minimum quantity, sampling terms, production schedule and shipping estimate. Compare tooling, samples, assembly, freight and storage alongside the box price.
Send your perfume packaging brief to EASTPKG to discuss the proposed specification and quotation. Confirm the final details in writing before placing an order.
