Frequently Asked Questions About Custom Packaging

Review common questions about quantities, samples, artwork and delivery before preparing your packaging brief with Eastpkg®. Confirm the specification and quotation terms for your project.

State the quantity for each size, structure and artwork version. Ask for the minimum quantity and price breaks for that specification; there is no single minimum that applies to every packaging project.

Compare the relevant format: rigid boxes, folding boxes, cartons, paper tubes or paper bags. Confirm sample quantities and charges separately from the production order.

Discuss the sample type, materials, printing, finishes and the checks it is intended to support before commissioning it. Provide the product or agreed dimensions for fit review.

Confirm the sample charge, timing and any fee-credit terms in the quotation. Record differences between a presentation sample and the proposed production process before approving the order.

Include your required delivery date and destination in the brief. Ask for separate estimates for artwork review, sampling, production and transport, and confirm when each estimate starts. Approve the schedule in the quotation.

Request evidence for the exact packaging specification. Check the board, coatings, adhesives, inserts and closures separately. Certification, recycled content and recyclability are different claims; recycling also depends on local collection and processing systems.

Share the product dimensions, weight, opening preference and insert requirements. Use rigid box examples or a reference design to explain the structure you want reviewed.

Confirm feasibility, dimensions, dieline and sample scope for the selected design. Availability of a particular shape, closure or prototype should be agreed for the project.

Tell us whether you have a reference image, editable artwork or a production-ready file. Identify the structure, dieline, layout or file-review help you need.

Agree the work included, deliverables, revisions, charges and approval steps in the quotation. Design or prepress support is not assumed to be free.

Describe how the pack should open, close and hold its contents. If considering a magnetic closure, ribbon pull, tuck flap, window, handle or insert, include its position and function in the brief.

Confirm the proposed components and their availability, then check access, fit and handling on the agreed sample. Review accessories as part of the complete packaging construction.

Provide the delivery country, postal address details needed for a quotation and required arrival date. Discuss the available shipping method for the order and destination.

Ask the quotation to identify packing, freight, insurance and import-related responsibilities where relevant. Confirm the agreed delivery terms and required documents before placing an order; a worldwide service or particular shipping term is not assumed.

Share the artwork you currently have, preferably including editable vector logo and layout files where available. Identify fonts, linked images, color references and any version that has already been approved.

Ask for the final dieline and file requirements for the proposed printing process, including bleed, safe areas, font handling and image resolution. Requirements and any file-preparation charges should be confirmed for the project.

Provide approved color references and, where useful, a physical reference. Agree the print approval method and acceptable variation for the selected paper, coating and process.

Review color, registration and finish on the agreed sample or production reference. Do not assume that a screen image or a general color-system name guarantees an exact printed match.

List the steps you need, such as box assembly, insert fitting, product insertion or labelling. Include item quantities, handling requirements and the destination.

Confirm which steps are included in the proposed supply scope, who provides the components, and the charges and acceptance checks. Storage, inventory management or direct-to-customer fulfilment should not be assumed.

Provide the product and packed dimensions, total weight, handling method and delivery route. Identify any size, storage or access constraints.

Confirm the feasible construction, reinforcement, sample checks and production limits for that project. There is no universal maximum size or transport-performance guarantee stated here.

Identify the exact board, coating, adhesive and insert specification. Request supporting documents for any proposed certification or recycled-content claim, and consider how the complete pack will be collected and processed in its intended market.
