Build the Brief Around the Device
Provide the device dimensions, weight and any accessories that will share the box. Include photos showing buttons, screens, connectors and delicate surfaces. Explain whether the pack is for retail display, a gift presentation or parcel shipment.
Plan Fit, Inserts and Opening
Discuss the outer structure together with the product support. Check clearance, removal access and the position of cables, manuals and chargers. An insert should be assessed against the actual device rather than its outline alone.
Compare rigid presentation boxes and folding cartons as starting points. Confirm the construction and assembly steps on the agreed sample.
Specify Protection Requirements
Identify any scratch, impact, moisture or electrostatic-discharge requirements. Ask which proposed materials and tests support those requirements. A decorative box or an untested insert does not establish protective performance.
If the product includes a battery, provide its type and explain the planned transport arrangements. Packaging and shipping requirements must be assessed for the actual product and route; do not infer transport compliance from the outer box design.
Review Artwork and Samples
Include the artwork version, product information and any required labels in the brief. Check small text, barcode placement, print alignment, closure and device removal at the final size. Agree on the sample type and acceptance criteria before approving production.
Send your electronics packaging requirements with the pack quantity, destination and required date so the scope and next steps can be confirmed.
